Apple Rance Imo Shochu
Imo - sweet potatoApple-rance
Toji (Master Distiller) Yoshiyuki Omure of Taikai Shuzo was inspired by the low-temperature fermentation techniques used in sake brewing through exchanges with sake breweries. Over many years, he refined these methods to create an exceptionally aromatic sweet potato shochu. By combining this expertise with a special aromatic yeast, he has crafted a shochu unlike any other—featuring elegant ginjo-style aromas and a natural sweetness rarely found in traditional imo shochu.
To best express its fragrant character and rich flavour, the alcohol content is intentionally set slightly higher at 27%.
The name Apple Rance combines the words Apple and La France (pear), reflecting its distinctive bouquet of fresh apple and ripe pear. Blended with the ultra-soft mineral water Kotobukizuru from Tarumizu Onsen, it offers an exceptionally smooth and gentle mouthfeel.
Enjoy it on the rocks, with water, or topped with soda.
